Meet Our Donors

William and Betty Stallsmith

William and Betty Stallsmith

Long-time and generous friends of Abington Health, the late William and Betty Stallsmith continue to support, via their estates, the people and causes so important to them throughout their lives.

Over the years these devoted donors exemplified the benefits of planned giving as a way to receive current income and tax advantages while leaving a legacy for the future of Abington Health. They created dozens of charitable gift annuities through Abington, which offered them a way to receive the immediate tax benefits of a charitable donation while at the same time ensuring a steady, reliable source of income for themselves and their family. In addition, the Stallsmiths established a charitable remainder unitrust in Betty’s will that provides lifetime income for their daughter, Elizabeth, and that will eventually benefit the important work of Abington.

The Stallsmiths have provided vital support to many areas of care at Abington, including nursing services, cancer care and numerous capital projects. Future gifts will continue to support these areas, as well as Abington’s technology needs, hospice care, the Mary T. Sachs Breast Center, the Neurosciences Institute and the Diamond Stroke Center.

Abington has recognized their philanthropic leadership with membership in the elite Million Dollar Roundtable. That honor is a reminder that, through their estates, the Stallsmiths have left an enduring legacy that will continue to benefit Abington Health and the people it serves throughout the years ahead.
