The 1872 Society

The 1872 Society was established to recognize friends of St. Luke’s who have created permanently endowed funds or made arrangements for ‘future gifts’ to support any of the entities, programs and services provided by St. Luke’s Hospital & Health Network. Members of the 1872 Society share a common belief that their investment in St. Luke’s will help to secure the future of our hospital today and for generations to come.

Members of this esteemed society support St. Luke’s through outright contributions or other planned giving vehicles, such as charitable gift annuities, trusts, life insurance, retirement plans or a bequest.

As an expression of our gratitude for their support, members of our 1872 Society receive the following benefits:

  • Specially designed one-of-kind tie or scarf
  • Invitations to annual recognition luncheon and other special educational events
  • Permanent listing on St. Luke’s lifetime giving donor walls (at all St. Luke’s entities)

“What we have done for ourselves dies with us;
what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.”

— Albert Pike

An Invitation to Join the 1872 Society

Members of the 1872 Society have expressed their commitment to St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network through a very special and important form of financial support.

These donors have named St. Luke's as the ultimate beneficiary of a planned gift. Such gifts might include a bequest and/or charitable income gifts, such as charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder unitrusts, charitable remainder annuity trusts, or gifts of life insurance.

Once you complete your estate plans, please fill out our member profile form to let us know. We would like to thank you for your generosity by including you in the 1872 Society.

Membership Benefits

Your membership involves no dues, obligations, or solicitations, but it does allow us to thank you and recognize you for the plans you have made, and it may inspire generosity in others.

Benefits of membership in the 1872 Society also include annual luncheons, invitations to special events and seminars and a subscription to our newsletter.

The most important benefit, however, you will receive from joining the 1872 Society is the satisfaction derived from making a lasting contribution to our long-term prosperity.
