Meet Our Donors

I learned about the Foundation through my mother, Evan Donaldson, a devoted founder of the group. I was inspired by her generous spirit of philanthropy. When she died in 1994 she included the NYWF in her will. I wanted to emulate her spirit of giving by putting the Foundation in my will immediately. At that time I was only 27, and I would like to encourage all young women to think about this and to do the same. It is an easy thing to do and yet so important in the long run. The New York Women's Foundation is a cause to which I have dedicated many years, and believe will be a vital part of the NY community for years to come. I joined the Polly W. Guth Circle by putting the NYWF in my will to make sure that I can continue my support.

"I feel very strongly that one should PLAN their legacy and gifts rather than doing it spontaneously, then more can be thoughtfully given."

We thank all our planned-gift donors for their generous support. The Polly W. Guth Circle members are a diverse group of women. Some have joined the circle when they retired and began considered their legacy and other have joined the society when they were still in their thirties. Their reasons for giving vary as well. Some have left a gift because they are a founding member of this organization, or a family member was, while some have only recently discovered their passion for the New York Women's Foundation.

As The Polly W. Guth Circle grows we look forward to sharing their stories with you.
