Friends, it gives me great pleasure to introduce a new Guide to Planned Giving. It is only a starting point for what I hope will be time for us to meet together and discuss your personal interests in assisting Kendal at Oberlin. Your Gift Can Make a Difference.

Our Kendal at Oberlin CommUnity was shaped from its earliest years by caring and generous individuals who have made unique contributions, offering their time, talent, and treasure. This deeply-rooted spirit of giving has helped distinguish Kendal at Oberlin from other similar communities. A lot of what we have accomplished can be traced back to gifts in various forms, small and large, from residents, families, staff, and friends, that have helped to assure financial security for those in need and also to make new ideas a reality.

With such inspiration in mind, we have added this Planned Giving website to assist you in determining options that fit your personal giving preferences. On this site, you will find easy-to-understand explanations of gift options that can provide income now either to you or to others you designate. Many of our donors have received considerable tax savings by establishing charitable remainder trusts or charitable gift annuities that ultimately benefit Kendal or other nonprofit organizations important to you. We can also assist you or your advisor with more complicated arrangements to transfer family assets, such as real estate, to the next generation by considering a charitable lead trust.

Tribute Gifts are welcome at any time using our "Make a Donation to Kendal NOW" button. These gifts allow you to honor the memory of anyone you choose – on any occasion.

We are grateful to our residents and friends who have shared their inspirational caring and unique gift arrangements to benefit Kendal at Oberlin. We are ready to schedule a personal appointment to discuss any of these matters, including making a bequest in your will or funding a gift through appreciated stock, life insurance, or even a retirement plan.

To learn more about your options to make a gift to Kendal and arrange time with our Planned Giving Consultant, contact Barbara Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, or Ann O’Malley, Chief Financial Officer, at 440-775-0094.

Thank you for visiting our Guide to Planned Giving.
