Meet Our Staff
Robin Kares is Director of Development for the Goodwill Industries Foundation. In this role, she supervises staff, oversees direct mail fundraising, is primarily responsible for planning, writing and reporting of grant proposals, and assists with publications, reporting, budgeting and strategic planning. Prior to joining the staff at Goodwill in 1998, she was a Lecturer in English and Coordinator of the Writing Program for Indiana University – Purdue University at Columbus.
Robin is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and she serves on the board of the Indiana Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Nina Scholars Advisory Council and the Vestry of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, where she helps raise money to support the church’s free medical clinic.
Robin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education – English, with minors in French, history and philosophy from the University of Evansville, and a Master of Arts in English from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Her doctoral work was in Medieval Language and Literature.

Jennifer Danic serves as the Foundation’s Development Manager. She is responsible for the annual fund and the Goodwill Young Leaders program (an initiative to engage young professionals ages 25-49 in Goodwill’s activities).
Prior to joining the Goodwill Industries Foundation, Jennifer served the Greater Educational Opportunities (GEO) Foundation as Manager of Advancement. She was responsible for all facets of the development program while raising money for Indiana charter schools. She has also worked at an Indianapolis-based family foundation as a grants manager and directed a volunteer program for children and adults with disabilities in Hillsdale, Michigan.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Jennifer is a founding member of Giving Sum, volunteers with College Mentors for Kids, serves as President of the Center on Philanthropy Alumni Association and is a member of the program committee of the Indiana Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Ken Ahlbrand, Development Assistant, joined the Goodwill Foundation in December 2006. Coming from a corporate background with experience in a variety of industries ranging from insurance to natural gas to pharmaceuticals, Ken was a good match for the entrepreneurial environment of Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana. This native Hoosier studied policy at IUPUI’s SPEA and, in addition to maintaining the donor database, provides administrative support to the Foundation staff.
