Meet Our Donors
Dr. Aubrey K. Lucas and Mrs. Ella G. Lucas
Aubrey and Ella Lucas met in 1952 at the Wesley Foundation while both were students at The University of Southern Mississippi. They have now been married 58 years and are the proud parents of four children and doting grandparents of eight grandchildren.
Aubrey served as President and Ella as First Lady at Delta State University for four years and at The University of Southern Mississippi for a total of twenty-three years, Aubrey having been elected President three different times. Currently, Aubrey is President Emeritus and Professor of Higher Education at The University of Southern Mississippi.
Aubrey and Ella are life-long Methodists and have been active in the United Methodist Church at all levels. They appreciated the opportunity to join with the Mississippi Annual Conference in endowing a scholarship at Africa University where Aubrey served on the Board of Directors for nine years and continues to serve on the Advisory Development Committee as well as the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry Investment Committee. Ella and Aubrey are participating in the Africa University Endowment Campaign in the Mississippi Conference.
Aubrey and Ella were inducted into the Legacy Society in 2001 and are being recognized for their second planned gift to Africa University.
