A Message from Mina Tepper, Executive Director

Welcome to Kendal's Guide to Creative Giving. Kendal owes its existence to the generous spirit, vision and financial gifts of many people. These individuals, through informed and careful planning, have contributed to the development of a community that continues to make an enriched and secure life possible for many seniors.

We hope you will find the inspiration and information you need in these pages to determine how to make a philanthropic impact of your own. One of the sources of our inspiration is Jeanne Kibbee, Kendal resident, for whom our Legacy Society is named. Jeanne encouraged our leadership to expand our visioning for Kendal, and personally extended herself to have those visions come true. Further, she challenged us to be more deliberate in finding ways to encourage others to support visions, and the personally participate in creating a better world through philanthropy. Our community will always be indebted to Jeanne for the lessons she taught us while she was living, but perhaps more so in how her approach to living has continued to positively impact the lives of others years after her death.

Jeanne H. Kibbee

Jeanne Kibbee's influence, in addition to her many generous gifts, included leadership and advocacy which resulted in significant gifts from others.

And so we bring this Guide to you. In these pages you can learn how just one "creative gift" can return an immediate tax benefit to the donor, plus lifetime income for the donor and a loved one, plus long-term financial support to Kendal. Financial advisors call these creative techniques "planned gifts," because with thoughtful planning, you can turn personal giving challenges into win-win solutions for you and for Kendal.

Thank you for visiting our planned giving pages. Please contact me with any questions you may have. I can be reached at (540) 464-2602 or toll-free at (800) 976-8303 or by email at mtepper@kalex.kendal.org.

Sincerely,

Mina Tepper
Executive Director
